
Wolverines to Close Regular Season at EMU Fall Classic

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's cross country team is set to close out the regular season on Friday (Oct. 25) at 5 p.m. with the EMU Fall Classic at the Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Mich.
Notes
• Michigan remained at No. 5 in the final USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region regular-season rankings release on Tuesday (Oct. 22). The top five saw no changes with Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Toledo ahead of U-M.
• The Maize and Blue finished 31st at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals last weekend. Penelopea Gordon was the team's lead runner for the second straight meet, finishing 80th with a personal-best time of 20:28.8.
• Mary Caroline Heinen (20:45.2) and Kayla Windemuller (21:00.2) were the next Wolverines to finish, coming in at 119th and 151st, respectively. Windemuller returned to the lineup for the first time since the Michigan Open (Aug. 30).
• Sophomore Jadyn Zdanavage finished 175th (21:10.1) while Rylee Tolson finished just behind her in 176th (21:10.5), with Zdanavage posting a personal-best time.
• Twelve Wolverines are set to compete at the EMU Fall Classic. Adele Havlick will make her debut in maize and blue, while Natalie Desarbo, Catrin Koselka, Gabbie Michael and Caroline Vance will enter the lineup for the first time since the Michigan Open (Aug. 30).
• At last year's EMU Fall Classic, Michigan placed a pair in the top 10, with CC Jones finishing fifth overall (18:31.4) and Gabbie Michael ninth (18:46.1). Gordon ran to a third-place finish (18:22.2), but ran unattached in the event.
• The Maize and Blue will open the postseason with the Big Ten Championships on Friday, Nov. 1, at Illinois.
