
Wolverine Women to Start 2023-24 Season With Be Better; Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's swimming and diving program will open the 2023-24 season by hosting the Be Better; Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 29) at 5 p.m. inside Canham Natatorium. Admission is free to all regular-season home meets.
Notes
• Michigan will honor the late Ian Miskelley on Friday with the Be Better; Invitational, an annual meet that seeks to promote mental health awareness and the opportunity to donate to the Be Better; Foundation, a charitable organization established by the Miskelley family in Ian's memory.
• The Wolverines will compete against Calvin College and Hope College on Friday. All three schools feature student-athletes that were connected to Miskelley at the prep, club or collegiate levels.
• The meet will mark the first for Matt Bowe as the head coach of the Michigan swimming and diving program. Bowe comes to Ann Arbor after serving as the associate head coach at Cal.
• The invitational will feature a mix of traditional and non-traditional events to kick off the 2023-24 campaign.
• U-M returns all of its honorable mention All-America honorees from the 2022-23 season and reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year Katie Crom.
• After the Be Better; Invitational, the Wolverines will return to Canham on Saturday (Sept. 30) at 9 a.m. for the Maize and Blue Intrasquad Meet. The meet is open to the public and admission is free.
