
Wolverines to Travel to Chicago for Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 26-ranked University of Michigan women's cross country team will head to Chicago, Ill., for the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on Friday (Sept. 29). The meet is scheduled to start at 11:25 a.m. CDT at Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course.
Notes
• Michigan will be a part of a field of 16 teams that includes Big Ten foes No. 17 Wisconsin, No. 30 Ohio State, Indiana and Northwestern.
• This will be the first time in program history that Michigan will compete at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational.
• Kayla Windemuller has led the way for the Maize and Blue, placing first and second overall, respectively, in the first two races of the season. Last time out, the graduate student clocked a 5K time of 18:03.2 at the Badger Classic.
• Samantha Saenz kept pace with Windemuller, finishing second on the team in both meets this season. Saenz logged her second straight top-four finish of the 2023 campaign at the Badger Classic with a mark of 18:07.1.
• In her season debut, Tilly Simpson grabbed 12th place and third on the team at the Badger Classic with a time of 18:28.8.
• Fellow newcomer Lani Bloom clocked an 18:35 at the Badger Classic, one of six Wolverines to log a 5K time under 20 minutes.
• Friday will mark the first 6K race of the season for the Wolverines after competing in two 5K meets to open 2023.
• Three runners -- Katelynne Hart, Danielle Page and Lucy Petee -- will make their season debut for U-M on Friday.
