
Wolverines Gear Up for NCAA Great Lakes Regional

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's cross country team will compete in familiar territory when it travels to Madison, Wis., for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday (Nov. 10) at 11:30 a.m. CST on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
Notes
• U-M will compete at Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course for the second straight meet and for the third time this season after competing there for the Big Ten Championships (Oct. 27) and Badger Classic (Sept. 9). Last time out, Michigan finished third at Big Tens, earning three individual conference awards.
• Michigan will face off against Big Ten foes Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin. Michigan State and Wisconsin are ranked in the USTFCCCA national poll, checking in at Nos. 14 and 23, respectively.
• Kayla Windemuller leads the way for the Wolverines, most recently finishing seventh overall at the Big Ten Championships with a 6K time of 21:14.2. She earned her second career All-Big Ten first team honor for her effort.
• Lani Bloom made the most of her Big Ten Championships debut, finishing 12th overall to earn All-Big Ten second team accolades and winning Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Bloom is the 13th woman in program history to win the award.
• Samantha Hastie captured Michigan's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for her performance at the Big Ten Championships. Hastie clocked a time of 22:10.9, finishing 37th overall.
• Samantha Saenz has a history of success at Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course this season, finishing 18th at the Big Ten Championships and fourth at the Badger Classic.
• Lisa Luecke finished fourth on the team at the Big Ten Championships, her first as a Wolverine. Luecke secured 30th overall with a time of 22:03.7.
• Should it qualify, Michigan will head to Charlottesville, Va., for the NCAA Championships on Nov. 18.
