
Wolverines to Conclude Homestand With SIUE

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (5-1) completes a two-game homestand on Wednesday (Nov. 29), hosting first-time opponent Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (1-6) at Crisler Center. The game is set for a 7 p.m. tip, and the game will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Greta Kampschroeder has had a hot start to the year from long-distance, hitting seven three-pointers at a 58.3 percent clip. She most recently reached double figures in scoring for the second time in a Michigan uniform, hitting all four of her three-point attempts against Eastern Michigan (Nov. 24) to finish with 12 points.
• Michigan and SIUE have a pair of common opponents in the early going as both teams have faced Middle Tennessee and Eastern Michigan. U-M defeated both teams, allowing just 46.5 points per game across the two contests. SIUE dropped both after an 81-74 loss to MTSU on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 26).
• Michigan is 3-0 at Crisler this season, outscoring its opponents by an average of 32 points per game. The Wolverines are averaging 80 points per game on 47.5 percent shooting at home, better than their overall season average. The Maize and Blue has made 23 three-pointers on 37.7 percent shooting at home, highlighted by hitting 10 triples on 50 percent shooting against Eastern Michigan (Nov. 24).
• Chyra Evans had a breakout performance against Eastern Michigan (Nov. 24), scoring a career-best 15 points on 7-for-8 shooting in 15 minutes of action. It was her second game in double figures this season after she had 10 points against Middle Tennessee (Nov. 18) to mark the first time in double figures in her career. On the season, she is averaging 6.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game.
• SIUE is the third first-time opponent for the Wolverines already this season. U-M also faced off against Middle Tennessee and Ole Miss for the first time during the Battle 4 Atlantis.
• A year after ranking second in the Big Ten in scoring defense (63.4 ppg), Michigan is right back there to start this season. U-M is second in the league and 17th nationally on the defensive end, giving up just 50.8 points per game. Michigan has held four of its opponents under 60 points, with its other two foes scoring 60 points (No. 23 Ole Miss) and 61 points (Purdue Fort Wayne).
• The Wolverines are 5-0 when winning the battle on the glass. U-M is averaging 41.3 rebounds per game while allowing just 32.0 per game to its opponents. Michigan leads the Big Ten in offensive rebounds per game (17.3) and is fourth in the conference with a 9.3-rebound advantage.
• The Wolverines have seven players averaging at least six points per game in Laila Phelia (17.3 ppg), Lauren Hansen (8.2 ppg), Jordan Hobbs (8.2 ppg), Cameron Williams (7.5 ppg), Taylor Williams (7.3 ppg), Evans (6.6 ppg) and Elissa Brett (6.4 ppg).
• Michigan will not be back in action at Crisler Center until hosting Miami (Ohio) on Dec. 16. U-M will play three straight on the road following the contest against the Cougars.
