
Wolverine Women Prepare for Georgia Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 14-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team will travel south to Athens, Ga., for the Georgia Invitational at Gabrielsen Natatorium on the campus of the University of Georgia. The three-day meet will start on Thursday (Nov. 16) with preliminaries at 9:30 a.m. and finals at 5:30 p.m.
Notes
• Last time out, Michigan split against Arizona and Wisconsin at the Wisconsin Tri-Meet on Oct. 21, defeating the Wildcats, 228-119, and coming up short against the Badgers, 216-137, to start the season at 1-1.
• Freshman Stephanie Balduccini comes into the meet with momentum after shining on the international stage. At the Pan-American Games, Balduccini earned the silver medal in the 100-meter freestyle and finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle. Both results met the NCAA "B" standard for postseason qualification.  Balduccini leads the team in three freestyle events.
• Casey Chung owns the top time on the team in the 200-yard backstroke, posting a time of 1:57.90 at the Wisconsin Tri-Meet to finish second overall.
• In the breaststroke, Natalie Kan boasts the best time on the squad in the 100-yard event after logging a mark of 1:05.28 at the Wisconsin Tri-Meet. Kan also holds the lead mark in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.08.
• Kathryn Ackerman leads the Maize and Blue in the IM, posting times of 2:03.34 and 4:16.16 and the 200 and 400-yard IM, respectively, at the Wisconsin Tri-Meet. Ackerman's 400-yard IM time reached the "B" standard.
• In diving, Kiarra Milligan swept the one-meter and three-meter events at the Wisconsin Tri-Meet, posting scores of 289.35 and 286.28, respectively.
• After the Georgia Invitational, U-M will take an extended break before returning to team competition against Indiana on Jan. 19.
