
Wolverine Women to Head to Virginia for XC-23 Pre-Nationals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's cross country team will head to Charlottesville, Va., for the XC-23 Pre-Nationals on Saturday (Oct. 14) at 10:30 a.m. with several Wolverine runners set to take part in the B race at 11 a.m.
Notes
• The Wolverine women will race at Panorama Farms, the site of this season's NCAA Championships, for the first time in 2023.
• U-M has finished in the top 10 in both of its scoring meets this season, most recently capturing seventh at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invite on Sept. 29.
• Michigan will face off against 41 teams, including five teams ranked inside the top 25 of the latest UTSFCCCA poll.
• The Wolverines will be competing in Charlottesville for the first time in program history on Saturday.
• Kayla Windemuller has paced the Maize and Blue through the first three competitions of the campaign. Windemuller posted the best 6K time of her career, 20:03.3, at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invite and has logged a top-10 finish in every race this season.
• Samantha Saenz registered her fastest 6K time of her Michigan tenure at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invite with a mark of 20:33.6. Saenz has finished second on the team in all three meets this season.
• Danielle Page enters Saturday meet with momentum after securing fifth overall in the gold race at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invite with a time of 21:10.3.
• Following the XC-23 Pre-Nationals, a small group of Wolverines will head to Dexter, Mich., for the EMU Fall Classic on Oct. 20.
