» After opening the fall season with a first-round 290 (+2), the University of Michigan men's golf team posted a 285 (-3) in the second round to position itself second after 36 holes of the Island Resort Intercollegiate.
» U-M's 285 (-3) was the second-lowest tally of the second 18, and was its first sub-par team total in nearly two years (one year, 10 months and 14 days).
» Making his first start in a year and a half, junior Pier Francesco De Col opened with a career-low-tying 71 (-1) in the first round and leads U-M at 143 (-1) after 36 holes.
» After a 79 in his first collegiate round, freshman Hunter Thomson rallied in the second with his first collegiate sub 70 (69, -3 with 6 birdies).
» U-M's starting five carded seven of its 10 rounds at par or better, with 36 birdies and one eagle.
