Wolverine Bites
• Charlie Pilon has played in 30 career events and has started the last 28, spanning more than three seasons. He led the Wolverines the last time out at the Louisiana Classics as he posted a season-low 220 total (75-71-74) to tie for 31st. He highlighted his 54 holes with two eagles and playing eight-under on the nine par-5s. He has averaged 76.33 per round this season, with season-low 71 (-1) in the second round of the Louisiana Classics -- his 17th career sub-par tally.
• In his first career start in the No. 1 position at the season-opening Mobile Bay Invitational, Patrick Sullivan led the Wolverines, posting his first career top-25 individual finish with a tie for 21st and a career-low 215 (-1). In the final round, Sullivan posted four birdies and an eagle to card a career-low 67 (-5) -- his first career sub-70 round -- to jump 26 spots to his career-best finish. He has posted 73.78 per round, which is on a pace to be nearly two shots lower than his previous season-best (75.50, 2018-19).
• Brent Ito made his season debut at the Louisiana Classics and posted a 226 (75-72-79). He returned for a graduate year following the NCAA allowing an extra year of eligibility after the cancellation of the 2019-20 spring season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last season, Ito had a career year as he led U-M with a 72.67 scoring average. He earned All-Big Ten second team honors -- the first conference accolade of his career, the 21st in program history and the first for a Wolverine since 2018 (Kyle Mueller).
• Freshman Will Anderson posted his first career top-10 individual finish at Houston's Border Olympics. After rounds of 71 (-1), 72 and 73, he finished at even-par 216 to tie for ninth. His tally is the lowest by a freshman since current senior Henry Spring posted a 214 (+4) tally at the 2017 Big Ten Championships (April 27-29) at Baltimore Country Club. Anderson has started all three events this season and has a 74.55 per round average.
• After starting five events last season, Pier Francesco De Col will make his season debut at the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational, playing as an individual. Last season he posted a 74.92 per round average and led U-M at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate. He posted a career-low 54-hole total of 219 (72-73-74) at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate.
