The seventh-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team (12-1, 7-1 Big Ten) heads to West Lafayette, Ind., to take on Purdue (11-5, 6-3 Big Ten) at Mackey Arena in the only meeting of the regular season between the teams. The game is scheduled for a 7:01 p.m. tipoff on FS1 with Kevin Kugler (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) as the broadcast crew.

Who are the Purdue Boilermakers?
• Purdue (11-5, 6-3 Big Ten) is one of the hottest teams in the Big Ten, having won four straight conference games -- at No. 23 Michigan State (55-54, Jan. 8), at Indiana (81-69, Jan. 14), Penn State (80-72, Jan. 17) and at No. 15 Ohio State (67-65, Jan. 19). The Boilermakers hit two last second shots to beat the Spartans (Trevion Williams, 6-foot jumper off inbounds pass) and the Buckeyes (Jaden Ivey, three-pointer with shot clock winding down).
• Purdue has played six of its last eight games on the road. Overall, the Boilermakers are 3-4 away from Mackey Arena, where they are a perfect 6-0. Purdue did have a home game against Nebraska (Jan. 5) but it was postponed due to the Cornhuskers pausing team activities over COVID-19 concerns.
• The Boilermakers are led by 6-foot-10 junior big man Trevion Williams, who averages 15.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and is shooting 54.0 percent from the field. Fellow junior Sasha Stefanovic adds 11.1 points as he has drained a team-best 41 three-pointers. Forty-one of 52 Stefanovic's field goals have come from long range. Junior Eric Hunter Jr., gives Purdue three double-figure-scoring Boilermakers with his 10.5 points per game. Hunter leads with 3.3 assists per game.
• Freshman 7-foot-4 big man Zach Edey aids the Boilermaker offense with his 8.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He also has a team-best 15 blocks. Redshirt freshman Brandon Newman is second on Purdue with 23 three-pointers as he is posting 9.1 points per game.
• Purdue is averaging 71.4 points, 37.4 rebounds and is shooting 45.5 percent.

• Friday's game will be the 163rd all-time meeting between Michigan and Purdue. U-M trails, 73-89, in the all-time series with the Boilermakers. U-M is 25-54 in West Lafayette, but the Wolverines have won four of their last seven meetings at Mackey Arena.
• There have been 17 games when both Michigan and Purdue were ranked with Michigan trailing, 9-8. The last game in which both teams were ranked was Dec. 1, 2018, when No. 7 Michigan defeated No. 19 Purdue, 76-57, at Crisler Center.

• Five-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week Hunter Dickinson leads U-M in scoring (15.7), rebounding (7.5) and blocks (1.5). With the national minimum of 5.0 field goals made per game, Dickinson leads the Big Ten and is second nationally at 70.3 percent (83-for-118). He trails Grand Canyon's Asbjorn Midtgaard (73.1 percent; 68-for-93; 11 games).
• Isaiah Livers is second on the team with 14.1 points per game. In his last game, Livers scored 20 points on eight shots -- 5-for-8 field, 4-for-5 three-pointers and 6-for-6 on free throws. He now has three 20-plus point games this season and 11 total double-figure games.
• Chaundee Brown Jr., needs just five points to reach 1,000 in his collegiate career. In three seasons at Wake Forest, he scored 876 points (10.4 ppg).
• Mike Smith has seven straight games of six assists or more, including a career-high 10 at Minnesota (Jan. 16). He leads Michigan and the Big Ten with a 5.8 average and is 27th nationally. Smith has posted three assists or more in all 13 games.
• Eli Brooks missed U-M's game at Minnesota (Jan. 16) with a strained right foot suffered in practice. He returned in Michigan's next game against Maryland (Jan. 19), recording seven points, four rebounds, five assists and a steal.
• Michigan's 11-game win streak to start the season was snapped with a 75-57 loss at No. 23 Minnesota (Jan. 16).
• During the streak, Michigan won all five on its non-conference games and opened with six straight Big Ten victories and became the first college basketball program to defeat three straight ranked opponents by 19 points or more. The Maize and Blue went from unranked to as high as No. 7 in the AP poll.
• U-M is shooting 51.4 percent from the field, leading the Big Ten and ranking 10th nationally. The Wolverines are second best in the league shooting 76.4 percent from the free-throw line, 30th nationally. U-M has scored 80 points or more in 10 games and averages 80.5 per game, which is third in the Big Ten and 39th nationally.
