SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team officially closed out the 2020 indoor regular season on Saturday (Feb. 22) at the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invitational.
Michigan's lone entrant in the meet -- the distance medley relay team of Ben Hill, Ian Davis, Cole Johnson and Anthony Berry -- finished seventh overall in a time of 9:36.46.
As of publication, the performance is projected to be ranked top-15 nationally, but will fall short of the top-12 status it takes to qualify for March's NCAA Indoor Championships.
The distance medley relay is composed of four relay legs of varying distance, starting off with a 1,200-meter leg and followed by 400-, 800- and 1,600-meter legs.
Michigan will have one final chance to improve its time and chances of qualifying for nationals at the Big Ten Championships in Geneva, Ohio, next Friday and Saturday (Feb. 28-29).
