Andrew Fenty (Feb. 18)
Big Ten Athlete of the Week -- Sophomore Andrew Fenty went unbeaten in singles and guided Michigan to the final four of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship as the Wolverines took down No. 7 Texas A&M and No. 4 Texas. Michigan lost by just one point, 4-3, to No. 1-ranked USC in the semifinals. Fenty won all three of his singles matches at No. 1 in straight sets, and all were against opponents ranked in the top 30, including second-ranked Yuya Ito of Texas. Fenty also collected a doubles victory with Mattias Siimar against Texas A&M for the duo's 13th straight win. Andrew Fenty (Feb. 4)
Big Ten Athlete of the Week -- Sophomore Andrew Fenty went 4-0 this week and helped Michigan to its first win over a top-10 team (No. 8 TCU) since 2011. Fenty and doubles partner Mattias Siimar remain unbeaten (6-0) this spring in doubles action. The duo topped TCU's No. 29-ranked team of Alastair Gray and Jacob Fearnley on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 1) and defeated the Western Michigan pair of Jannik Opitz and Kennosuke Nouchi later that evening. Fenty followed up his doubles wins with singles triumphs over No. 51-ranked Gray in straight sets and Opitz in three. » Big Ten Release
Andrew Fenty (Jan. 22)
Big Ten Athlete of the Week -- Sophomore Andrew Fenty started the spring season with a 5-1 record, going 3-0 at No. 1 doubles and 2-1 at No. 1 singles. In doubles play, he and partner Mattias Siimar faced two ranked opponents, which included a win over the No. 8-ranked team of Ty Gentry and Joshua Charlton of Oregon, 6-4, on Sunday (Jan. 19). Fenty's biggest win of the week was a his 6-4, 6-7(4), 7-6(4) victory over Oregon's No. 14-ranked Joshua Charlton. On Friday (Jan. 17), he took down Ewen Lumdsen of Washington in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. » Big Ten Release
