Lexie Blair (May 9)
Schutt Sports / NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year -- Outfielder Lexie Blair was named one of 10 finalists for the NFCA Freshman of the Year. Blair, who earned an unanimous All-Big Ten first team selection Wednesday (May 8), currently leads the Wolverines with a .431 batting average, 72 hits and 49 RBI. She is Michigan's second finalist for the award in as many seasons; teammate Meghan Beaubien made the final top-three cut last year. » NFCA Release
Alex Storako (May 6)
Big Ten Freshman of the Week -- Freshman RHP Alex Storako did not allow a run through 10.2 innings pitched last weekend at Maryland. She tossed a complete-game shutout en route to a win on Saturday and earned a save on Sunday, entering with bases loaded and no outs in the fifth and closed out the game without a run allowed. Faith Canfield (April 30)
NFCA Division I National Player of the Week -- Senior second baseman Faith Canfield reached base safely in all 15 plate appearances last week, going 8-for-8 at the dish with four walks and three hit-by-pitches. The senior second baseman was also perfect in the field in 11 attempts. Slugging 2.000, Canfield launched a grand slam against Michigan State, while against Penn State, she connected on a solo shot in game two and doubled twice in the series opener. It is the second time in her career that Canfield garnered NFCA National Player of the Week honors. » NFCA Release
Faith Canfield (April 29)
Big Ten Player of the Week -- Senior second baseman Faith Canfield posted a 1.000 batting average (8-for-8), 2.000 slugging percentage and a 1.000 on-base percentage, reaching in all 15 plate appearances -- with four walks and three hit-by-pitches -- over the Wolverines' four games last week. She tallied 10 runs scored and seven RBI and four extra-base hits with two doubles and two homers -- a grand slam against Michigan State on Thursday and a leadoff solo shot in the first inning on Saturday against Penn State. » Big Ten Release
Alex Storako (April 29)
Big Ten Co-Pitcher of the Week/Co-Freshman of the Week -- Freshman RHP Alex Storako posted a 2-0 record, with a 0.58 ERA and 21 strikeouts over three appearances and 12.0 total innings last week. She tallied a one-hit shutout against Penn State on Saturday with nine strikeouts; she did not allow another PSU base runner. On Sunday, she struck out 10 and allowed three hits -- two of which were sun-aided fly balls that dropped in. » Big Ten Release
Lexie Blair (April 22)
Big Ten Freshman of the Week -- Freshman Lexie Blair netted her third Big Ten Freshman of the Week accolade in six weeks after leading the Wolverines with a .571 batting average over their four wins last week, boasting a .611 on-base percentage, 1.000 slugging percentage, seven runs scored and seven RBI. She scored in the first and drove in the game-winning run in the seventh in U-M's 2-1 win against Illinois in the series opener. She also went 4-for-4 in the finale with four runs and four RBI -- and was just a triple shy of the cycle. » Big Ten Release
Lexie Blair (April 18)
Finalist for Schutt Sports/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year -- Freshman outfielder Lexie Blair was named one of 25 finalists for the 2019 NFCA Freshman of the Year award. Blair currently leads the Wolverines with a .404 batting average, 55 hits and 34 runs batted in. She is the second Wolverine rookie in as many seasons to be considered for the award. Alex Sobczak (April 1)
Big Ten Co-Player of the Week -- Senior first baseman Alex Sobczak led the Wolverines with a .667 batting average, .714 on-base percentage and 1.500 slugging percentage in wins against Central Michigan and Rutgers last week. She tallied a home run in all three games against Rutgers, going 6-for-9 in the series with nine RBI. She shares the honor with Wisconsin's Kayla Konwent. » Big Ten Release
Lexie Blair (April 1)
Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week -- Freshman outfielder Lexie Blair posted a .583 over four games last week, boasting a .688 on-base percentage and .917 slugging percentage in wins over Central Michigan and Rutgers. She posted eight runs scored and four RBI in the Rutgers series. Her four runs scored in the series opener was the most by a Wolverine player in two seasons. Meghan Beaubien (March 25)
Big Ten Pitcher of the Week -- Sophomore left-handed pitcher Meghan Beaubien threw 20.2 scoreless innings en route to three wins and a save in U-M's games against Western Michigan and Nebraska last week. She tossed a pair of one-hitters against Nebraska -- she was two outs away from a perfect game in the finale. Beaubien posted 31 strikeouts, including a season-high 13 against WMU, and allowed just eight hits and one walk, holding the opposition to a .114 batting average.
Lexie Blair (March 18)
Big Ten Player/Freshman of the Week -- Freshman Lexie Blair swept the Big Ten's Player and Freshman of the Week honors after batting .875 (7-for-8) and posting eight RBI to headline the Wolverines' offensive efforts in their series sweep over Kent State. Blair posted three hits apiece in both games of a Sunday doubleheader, including a single, double and grand slam -- her second collegiate home run -- in the day's first slate. » Big Ten Release
Meghan Beaubien (March 5)
USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week -- Sophomore left-handed pitcher Meghan Beaubien earned two wins over top-five opposition at the Judi Garman Classic, holding No. 2 UCLA (March 1) and No. 5 Washington (March 3) to just three runs off nine hits over 14 innings pitched. She only allowed three hits and struck out three en route to a 3-1 decision against the Bruins. Two days later, she allowed just two runs off six hits and four walks, while striking out five in a 4-2 win against the Huskies. » USA Softball Release
Meghan Beaubien (Jan. 30)
USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Watch List -- Sophomore left-handed pitcher Meghan Beaubien, who was a top-10 finalist for USA Softball's Collegiate Player of the Year as a rookie last season, will begin 2019 on the Top 50 Watch List for the award. Beaubien led the nation in wins last year, posting a sterling 33-6 record with a 1.16 earned-run average, 266 strikeouts and a .135 opponent batting average en route to NFCA First Team All-American and Big Ten Pitcher of the Year and Freshman of the Year accolades. » USA Softball Release
