• Michigan will conclude its season this week, sending the trio of Kate Fahey, Chiara Lommer and Brienne Minor to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. All three Wolverines will participate in the singles tournament, with Fahey and Minor teaming up in the doubles tourney.
• Kate Fahey received the No. 3 seed for the singles tournament, the highest seed a Wolverine has ever earned. Fahey, who received the Big Ten's automatic bid as its highest-ranked player, is playing in her third straight singles tournament, where she has a 3-2 record. She reached the quarterfinals of the 2017 tournament, earning All-America honors. Fahey is guaranteed to be an All-American this season after securing the No. 3 seed. She will face North Carolina's Sara Daavettila on Monday (May 20) at 2 p.m.
• Brienne Minor is returning to the singles tournament for the first time since capturing the 2017 NCAA singles title. Minor is ranked No. 50 by the ITA after putting together a 29-6 singles record. The senior is 6-1 all-time in the NCAA Singles Championship, losing the first match she played as a freshman in 2016 before winning six matches in six days to capture the 2017 championship. She will face California's Olivia Hauger on Monday (May 20) at 10 a.m.
• Chiara Lommer is making her NCAA Singles Championship debut on the strength of her No. 47 ranking. Lommer put together a 23-12 record as a junior and finished runner-up to Kate Fahey at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in the fall. She will face No. 4 seed Ingrid Gamarra Martins of South Carolina on Monday (May 20) at 10 a.m.
• For the first time in program history, Michigan had three players qualify for the singles tournament.
• Kate Fahey and Brienne Minor earned the Big Ten's automatic bid and will participate in the doubles championship together. The duo teamed up for a 20-3 overall record, including a 14-1 dual-match record at No. 1. It marks the first time the duo has played together in the NCAA Tournament but is the second doubles appearance for both Wolverines. The duo will face Virginia's Meghan Kelley and Sofia Munera in the first round on Tuesday (May 21).Â
• Kate Fahey has put together an impressive senior season, compiling a 38-5 overall singles record. She passed Emina Bektas for first all-time at Michigan with 132 singles wins and is tied with Bektas for the single-season wins record (38). Fahey is ranked No. 3 by the ITA and went 21-1 at the No. 1 spot during dual matches, winning her last 21. She was named Big Ten Athlete of the Year for the second straight season and is competing in her third consecutive NCAA Singles Championship later this month.
• Brienne Minor became the ninth Wolverine in school history to reach 100 singles wins on the strength of a 29-6 singles record this season. Minor now holds a 109-29 mark on the singles court, ranking seventh all-time in singles wins.
• Michigan ended the team portion of its season with a 20-6 record after falling to top-seeded Georgia, 4-2, in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. U-M won both the Big Ten championship and the Big Ten Tournament titles this season.
