CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The No. 18-ranked University of Michigan men's tennis team earned the doubles point and four wins in singles play en route to a 5-2 win over Cleveland State on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 23). The victory is U-M's sixth straight as the Wolverines head into conference play starting Wednesday (Feb. 27) at Michigan State.
After dropping No. 2 doubles, the Maize and Blue rallied with a convincing 6-3 decision at No. 3 by the duo of freshman Ryan Fu and senior Gabe Tishman, who were playing together for the first time this season.
The doubles point was decided in a tiebreaker. U-M's combination of sophomore Harrison Brown and freshman Andrew Fenty won by a score of 7-6 (6), which gave the Wolverines the doubles point to start off the non-conference matchup.
