Wolverines to Host Houston Baptist in Pre-Thanksgiving Matchup

» Michigan will close its pre-Thanksgiving schedule on Friday (Nov. 22) at 7 p.m. when it hosts Houston Baptist at Crisler Center.

The University of Michigan men's basketball team will complete its pre-Thanksgiving game schedule when it hosts Houston Baptist on Friday (Nov. 22) at Crisler Center. The game will be streamed live on BTN Plus (Student U) at 7:01 p.m. with Ben Rosof (play-by-play), Josh Ascroft (analyst)Â and Grace Boyles (sideline) as the broadcast crew.
A Look at the Houstin Baptist Huskies
• Houston Baptist has opened the season with a 0-3 record with all three losses coming away from home. The Huskies began the season with back-to-back road setbacks against Tulsa (L, 80-72) and Oral Roberts (L, 95-71) before dropping a neutral-site game against Texas Tech (L, 103-74) in their last game.
• Jalon Gates leads the Huskies in scoring at 20.7 points per game. Ian DuBose is adding 16.3 points and a team-best 6.7 rebounds per contest.
• Houston Baptist was picked to finish ninth in the Southland Conference Preseason Poll; Ian DuBose was named to the Preseason All-Southland first team.
• The Huskies posted a 12-18 record a season ago, including an 8-10 mark in league play, and fell to Lamar, 81-79, in the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament.
• Houston Baptist head coach Ron Cottrell is in his 29th season as head coach of the Huskies, winning 487 games during his tenure. Cottrell has been the program's only head coach since it was reinstated in the 1991-92 season.
The Series With the Huskies
• Michigan holds a 3-0 record against Houston Baptist in the all-time series, with all three games being played in Ann Arbor.
• The Wolverines last played the Huskies on Dec. 5, 2015, and recorded an 82-57 victory. Brooklyn Net guard Caris LeVert led U-M with 25 points and eight rebounds, while Miami Heat guard Duncan Robinson had 19 off the bench, with five three-pointers.
• The other two U-M victories were a 107-53 win (Dec. 7, 2013) and a 77-55 win (Nov. 20, 2009).

• Jon Teske has posted three straight games of 15-plus points, seven-plus rebounds and two-plus blocks.
• Zavier Simpson has posted three straight games of six assists or more.
