Pair of 70s Put Ito in Top 10 After First Day at Fighting Irish Classic

» The University of Michigan men's golf team posted team totals of 294 and 289 to post a 583 36-hole total and is 11th after the first day of Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Classic.
» Senior Brent Ito leads U-M for the third straight event, posting back-to-back 70s (-1) to sit tied for seventh at 140 (-2).
» Ito has fired six of his eight rounds this season at or below par, including a team-best four sub-par rounds.
» After opening with a 77 in his first collegiate round, freshman Pier Francesco De Col rebounded with an even-par 71.
» Michigan will play the final round with Iowa State and Mississippi State off the 10th tee at 8:20 a.m.
