ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan softball team was forced to cancel its series finale against Rutgers, originally scheduled for Sunday (April 15), due to rain and cold conditions. The game will not be made up.
The Wolverines altered the weekend schedule, playing a doubleheader on Friday (April 13) due to the poor weekend forecast, but could not find a clear window either Saturday or Sunday to complete the series. Michigan swept the first two games, winning 11-1 in five innings and 9-2, to extend its win streak to 11 games.
Individual ticket holders for Sunday's game can request a refund by returning unused tickets to the Michigan Athletic Ticket Office. The refund request must be within 14 days of the original date of game. Please visit the ticket office's Inclement Weather Policy page for more information.
Michigan has now lost a pair of Big Ten games due to weather. The Wolverines are 10-1 in league play and sit atop the Big Ten standings with their .909 winning percentage.
Michigan will play the second half of its home-and-home series against in-state rival Michigan on Tuesday (April 17) at 3 p.m. at Secchia Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan. The game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
