COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ned Willig raced to victory over 1,500 meters to headline the University of Michigan men's track and field team's first day at the Ohio State Jesse Owens Classic on Friday (April 21) at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
The All-American and sub-four-minute miler ran 3:45.44 to win the fastest section of the 1,500-meter event, crossing the line more than a second clear of runner-up Daniel Michalski of Cedarville.
Ben Hill once again broke the 3:50 barrier in a fourth-place finish, running 3:48.00.
Garrett McPeek was 15th overall in 3:57.57.
