Wolverines to Host Alabama A&M in Thursday Night Battle at Crisler

» U-M, which is a perfect 6-0 at home, has just two games remaining in the non-conference schedule in 2017.
» Over his last four games, Zavier Simpson has come off the bench to average 10.5 points and has shot 17-for-27 from the field (62.9 percent) including going 5-for-5 from deep.
» With Moritz Wagner nursing a right ankle injury, Jon Teske started his first career game vs. Detroit Mercy and recorded his second double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds). Wagner is still listed day-to-day with the injury.
» Earlier this week, U-M head coach John Beilein announced the official addition of walk-on Rico Ozuna-Harrison to the roster. A member of the scout team, he will now dress for home games.

With just two non-conference games remaining for the University of Michigan men's basketball team (10-3; 1-1 B1G) as the Wolverines host Alabama A&M (0-11) in the week's lone matchup, Thursday night (Dec. 21) at Crisler Center in a pre-holiday game. With the U-M women's team playing at 3:30 p.m., tipoff against the Bulldogs is scheduled for 9 p.m. with the game broadcast on ESPNU.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
• Alabama A&M travels to Ann Arbor in search of its first win of the season as the Bulldogs have dropped their first 11 games of the season. Alabama A&M has played 10 of its first 11 games away from home, including eight true road games.
• Three players are scoring in double figures for the Bulldogs, led by Julian Walters at 14 points per game, along with a team-high 6.5 rebounds per contest. De'Ederick Petty adds 12.3 points per contest while Arthur Johnson chips in 11.3 points per game.
• Alabama A&M is committing just 16.0 fouls per game, the fewest of any team in the SWAC and 34th nationally. The Bulldogs also rank third in the SWAC in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 35 percent as a team.
• Donnie Marsh is in his first season as head coach at Alabama A&M. Marsh spent the last two seasons as the associate head coach at Texas Southern. Marsh was the head coach at Florida International from 2000-04.
• This will be the second all-time meeting between Michigan and Alabama A&M. U-M won the first meeting, 87-57, on Dec. 17, 2011. Trey Burke led the Wolverines with a game-high 19 points.
CLOSING OUT 2017
• After opening with 13 games in the first 36 days of the season, U-M closes its non-conference season playing its final two non-conference games over the final 14 days of 2017.
• With U-M's final exams coming to a close, the Wolverines host Alabama A&M on Thursday at 9 p.m. (ESPNU). The Maize & Blue will close out 2017 with a Saturday, Dec. 30, game with Jacksonville at 6 p.m. (BTN).
• For the second straight season, U-M will start the New Year playing at Iowa. This year, the Wolverines head to Iowa City for a Tuesday, Jan. 2, game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Last season, the Hawkeyes used an 86-83 OT win to ring in 2017.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
• Over his last four games, U-M's sixth man Zavier Simpson has posted three double figure scoring games (10.5 ppg), including a career-best 15 against UCLA. During his stretch, he has shot 17-for-27 from the field (62.9 percent) and 5-for-5 from deep.
• Due to a right ankle sprain, Moritz Wagner missed the vs. Detroit Mercy game, snapping a 55 consecutive game streak. He continues to be listed as day-to-day.
• Filling in for the injured Wagner, Jon Teske started his first career game against the Titans and posted his second double-double with a career-high 15 points and 10 rebounds.
• Quietly, Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman has recorded a U-M best 42 assists (3.2 per game) with eight turnovers -- a 5.25 ratio and ranking him second in the nation.
• Duncan Robinson, who leads with 27 three-pointers this season, is 10th on U-M's all-time top 10 for three-point field goals (186). He needs three for ninth which is held by LaVell Blanchard (2000-03, 189).
