Note: On June 24, Michigan announced that Steinberg will be reinstated as Michigan's head coach.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's tennis head coach Adam Steinberg resigned on Wednesday (June 15) to become the new head coach at Arizona State University.
"We appreciate everything Adam and his family did for Michigan and the men's tennis program over the last two seasons," Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics Warde Manuel said. "We wish him well in the future."
Steinberg spent the last two seasons at Michigan, compiling a 28-25 record and making one NCAA Tournament appearance. This past season, U-M went 21-8 and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after a 7-17 mark in Steinberg's first year. Michigan returns 10 letterwinners from this season for the 2016-17 squad, including all six regulars in the singles lineup.
A search for Steinberg's replacement will begin immediately.
