
Knight Named to All-Big Ten Second Team

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Junior/sophomore Alex Knight of the University of Michigan men's tennis team was named to the All-Big Ten second team after helping U-M to an 8-3 conference record, the Big Ten announced on Thursday morning (April 28).
Knight picks up the first conference honors of his career after compiling a 4-3 Big Ten record at both No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Knight clinched Michigan's conference wins over Indiana and Wisconsin. Knight holds a 15-6 record in dual matches and is currently ranked No. 123 by the ITA.
He also teamed with sophomore Runhao Hua to go 4-3 at the No. 1 doubles spot. Hua and Knight are ranked No. 81 by the ITA.
In addition, junior/sophomore Davis Crocker repeated as Michigan's sportsmanship honoree.
A season removed from winning just seven matches, the Wolverines completed the regular season with a 19-6 record. Michigan is ranked No. 24 by the ITA and has a pair of wins over top 25 competition.
Michigan has secured the No. 4 seed for the Big Ten Tournament and has received a first-round bye. U-M will face either Indiana or Iowa tomorrow (Friday, April 29) at 11:30 a.m. CDT. The tournament is being held at Minnesota.
