WASHINGTON, Pa. -- University of Michigan softball graduate Haylie Wagner has signed with the Pennsylvania Rebellion of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF), the team announced on Wednesday (June 17). A two-time NFCA All-America pitcher, Wagner is coming off a stellar showing in the Wolverines' run at the Women's College World Series.
Wagner posted a 3-1 record in WCWS play while posting a 1.27 ERA with 16 strikeouts over 22 innings pitched. She earned back-to-back wins in relief against UCLA and LSU and shut out Florida, 1-0, in game two of the championship series. She was one of five Wolverines named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.
A 2015 NFCA All-America third team selection, Wagner accumulated a sterling 25-3 record in her senior campaign with a 1.75 ERA, 135 strikeouts and four complete-game shutouts. She was named to the All-Big Ten first team and helped guide the Wolverines to the Big Ten Tournament crown with a superb complete-game performance against Nebraska in the championship game.
She recorded a 100-18 mark over her four collegiate seasons, ranking third among the Wolverines' all-time wins leaders and fourth with a career .847 winning percentage. A four-time All-Big Ten selection and the 2012 Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, she boasted a career 1.82 ERA, 518 strikeouts and 20 complete-game shutouts. In addition to her All-America third team honors this season, she was named a second team All-American in 2014.
Wagner becomes the 17th Wolverine in program history to enter the professional ranks and joins former fellow All-America pitcher Jordan Taylor (2008-11) as current Michigan representatives in the NPF. Taylor is in her fourth season with the USSSA Pride in Kissimmee, Florida.
Wagner is available to play this week in the Rebellion's three-game road series against the Dallas Charge. For more information about the Pennsylvania Rebellion and its 2015 schedule, please visit PennsylvaniaRebellion.com.
