Michigan advanced to the Women's College World Series championship series for the second time in program history. The Wolverines captured the 2005 WCWS title. U-M improved to 12-20 all-time in WCWS games, spanning its 11 appearances.
U-M improved to 6-2 in the all-time series against LSU. The Wolverines have claimed three of the last four meetings.
The Wolverines extended their winning streak to 28 games. It is the second-longest win streak in program history -- to the 2005 team's 32-game win streak.
With her third-inning solo shot, junior Sierra Romero upped her career total to 63 to claim sole possession of Michigan's career record in the category. She had previously been tied with Samantha Findlay (2005-08). She also improved on her own school record for career runs (225) and career runs batted in (225).
Romero also improved on her own single-season records for runs scored (85) and RBI (82).
With her steal of home of in the sixth innings, junior Sierra Lawrence upped to season steals total to 24 to tie the Wolverines' single-season steals record in the category. Diane Hatch also posted 24 steals in 1982 and has held the record for 33 years.
Lawrence leads the Wolverine team with 19 multi-RBI games.
The Wolverines matched a single-season high with four stolen bases.
Sophomore Abby Ramirez leads the Wolverines with a .625 (5-for-8) average in WCWS competition. She is 5-for-6 over the last two games. Nine different players have tallied at least one hit over the last three games.
Senior LHP Haylie Wagner improved to 99-17 over her four-year tenure and claimed sole possession of third place among the Wolverines' all-time wins leaders. With her .853 career winning percentage, she also ranks third among U-M's leaders in that category.
