During today's game, Michigan honored the 50- and 30-year anniversaries of its 1964-65 and 1984-85 Big Ten championship teams.
Today's game was the 177th all-time meeting between Michigan and Ohio State. Overall, U-M trails the series, 77-100. However, U-M has won four of the last five meetings against OSU and has a 47-37 record in games played in Ann Arbor.
The Wolverines started the game on a 7-0 run and led from start to finish, with the team's largest lead reaching 20 points (31-11) with 6:36 remaining in the first half.
Today's win over No. 24 Ohio State was U-M's first victory over a ranked opponent this season. The team's last win over a ranked opponent was on March 15, 2014, also against a 24th-ranked Ohio State squad, in the Big Ten Tournament.
U-M held the Buckeyes to just 57 points today -- the team's second-lowest offensive output all season. OSU was averaging 78 points per game on the season and 70.7 points per game in Big Ten play.
When Michigan scored 39 points in the first half, it marked the third time the Wolverines have surpassed the 25-point barrier in its last dozen games.
