ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Junior Kimberly Graziano is an attacker from right here in Ann Arbor and is majoring in movement science at the University of Michigan. MGoBlue.com sat down with Graziano for a Q&A.
Q. Why did you choose the University of Michigan?
A. I was born here and my dad worked at the University of Michigan. Mostly though, I think it was the alumni base that really stuck out to me.
Q. How did you get started playing water polo?
A. My family was big on swimming, and then my siblings kind of pushed me into it. I started in seventh grade. My brother played club water polo for Michigan State.
Q. What community service activities do you like to do?
A. I have gone to Mott's with the team, and we do the pen pal letters. The kids write us a letter once a month and then we write back.
Q. How does it feel to be the only Michigan native on the team?
A. Everyone always talks about "play for the kid in the stand," and it's kind of different because I was that kid. Sometimes it feels surreal, and I take a step back and think, "isn't it weird that I was that little guy at the game, and I would look at the dance team at games," and you forget how time flows.
Q. If you were having a slumber party and could invite anyone, who would it be?
A. It would be all my junior teammates, but we live together so every night is a slumber party.
Q. Who is the first person you call after a bad day?
A. My brother, he is my plus one.
Q. If you could come out at the start of a match to an entrance song, what would it be?
A. Probably Cher
Q. If there was a movie made about you, who would portray you?
A. Cameron Diaz
Q. Most visited website?
A. Probably CTools
Q. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would buy?
A. I would buy way too many clothes
Q. What is your favorite Michigan Tradition?
A. Tailgating before football games because I get to see my family.
Q. What Starbucks drink would you be and why? (From Sami Pratt)
A. A black cup of joe because I'm bold yet super boring.
