Michigan played its 176th all-time meeting tonight at Ohio State. U-M is now 76-100 all-time against the Buckeyes. The loss also snaps a three-game winning streak by the Wolverines.
With three long-range baskets, Zak Irvin has made a three-pointer in every game this season. For his career, he has made at least one triple in 45 of 54 career games.
After getting out rebounded ,21-13, in the first half, the Wolverines responded in the second half, outgaining the Buckeyes, 20-15. Overall, OSU won the battle of the boards, 36-33.
Michigan did not attempt its first free throw until 4:07 left in the game. U-M finished 6-for-6 from the charity stripe as Mark Donnal was 2-for-2, and Caris LeVert was 4-for-4.
Michigan tied a season low with eight assists; Donnal, Derrick Walton Jr. and Kameron Chatman each had two.
Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman played in a career-high 15 minutes off the bench. It marks just his second game of 10-plus minute a game. He finished with three points, one rebound and one assist.
Mark Donnal finished with eight points, which were the first Big Ten points of his career. He was 3-for-7 from the field -- a career best in attempts -- and added four rebounds in 17 minutes of action.
Spike Albrecht played in his 93rd consecutive game for the Wolverines. He has not missed a game in three years. Joining him was Zak Irvin, who played in his 54th straight game.
For the third straight game, the Wolverines used Spike Albrecht in the starting lineup. He was joined by Derrick Walton Jr., Caris LeVert, Zak Irvin and Ricky Doyle. Overall, it is Albrecht's fourth career start.
