With today's loss, Michigan fell to 72-32-2 in the all-time series against Ohio State. The Buckeyes have claimed the last 14 meetings between the two programs. OSU won the regular-season encounter, 4-0, in Ann Arbor.
Michigan advanced to the Big Ten Tournament championship match for the first time in program history.
Matches in postseason play are abandoned once the match is clinched.
The winner of the conference tournament receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
Senior Evan King did not finish his singles match against No. 9 Peter Kobelt. He still holds an 11- match winning streak.
