Michigan improved its all-time record against Lake Superior State to 60-46-6 tonight and has now won the last 14 meetings between the programs.
Junior forward Chris Brown tied a career high with two goals (last 10/4/11 vs. Niagara). He now has 30 goals for his career.
Sophomore defenseman Jon Merrill tallied two assists in his first game of the season. He also led the team with a plus-3 rating
Senior forward David Wohlberg led the Wolverines with three points (1g, 2a) on the night. He has now recorded a point in six of his last eight games, including four of his last five. Wohlberg also has recorded 11 points (4g, 7a) in eight career games against the Lakers.
The Michigan power play failed to convert on its sole power-play opportunity and successfully killed both of Lake Superior State's man-advantage opportunities.
Goaltender Shawn Hunwick turned aside 20-of-21 shots in two periods of action for his 12th win of the season. Adam Janecyk seven-of-eight shots in the third period.
U-M is now 5-0-1 in its last six games. Each of the last five games has been played against ranked opponents.
