Michigan and Michigan State met for the 280th time, an NCAA Division I all-time high. Michigan's all-time record against its CCHA rival now stands at 139-123-18.

Fifth-year senior goaltender Shawn Hunwick made his 19th straight start this season and turned aside 31-of-34 shots in his ninth win of the season.
Tonight marked the fourth sellout in the past five games at Yost Ice Arena, with an attendance of 6,637.
