
Lohman Claims Another Diving Title at Pittsburgh Invitational

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- University of Michigan women's diver Amanda Lohman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) claimed her second diving title in as many nights, winning the three-meter competition Saturday (Nov. 19) at the Pittsburgh Invitational at Joe C. Trees Pool. Michigan leads the diving portion of the meet with a total of 110 points after two sessions.
Lohman, the Pittsburgh native who also won the one-meter springboard event a day earlier, clinched the three-meter title on her last dive of the finals, finishing with a score of 317.00, a new team season best.
Joining Lohman in the finals were three U-M freshmen, led by Carey Chen (Vancouver, British Columbia/University Hill Secondary), who scored a third-place finish for the second straight day (254.45). Marina Nazario (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) was right behind her in fourth (248.50), while Emily Boyd (Monrovia, Calif./Flintridge Sacret Heart Academy) placed seventh (233.65).
The Pittsburgh Invitational concludes tomorrow (Sunday, Nov. 20) with the platform diving competition. Preliminaries will begin at noon, with the finals commencing at 1:30 p.m.
