
Wolverines Set for Split-Squad Weekend

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Friday (Oct. 9) will feature a split schedule for the No. 6-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team, with competition taking place in both Ann Arbor and Knoxville, Tenn. The Wolverines will host Pittsburgh at Canham Natatorium for a 2 p.m. dual meet, while the other half of the team will travel to Knoxville for its second College Swimming League (CSL) match of the season at 6:30 p.m. The CSL meet will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Notes
•The Wolverines will close out their CSL regular-season slate with their second and final match, competing against No. 8 Louisville, No. 4 Tennessee and No. 1 Virginia.
• Michigan will face Pittsburgh for the eighth time in program history, holding a 4-3 advantage in the all-time series against the Panthers.
• In the 200-yard IM, Bella Sims earned a first-place finish with a time of 1:54.82, more than four seconds ahead of the next fastest swimmer. She also finished second in the 100-yard IM with a time of 52.69 seconds at CSL Match One.
• McKinley Scobie made her collegiate debut at the first CSL match of the season, finishing seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.55. She also posted a time of 48.86 in the 100-yard freestyle.
• Hannah Bellard turned in a first-place performance in the 500-yard freestyle at CSL, clocking a time of 4:36.54 to top swimmers from Indiana, Louisville and Ohio State. She also placed second in the 200-yard butterfly in 1:53.53.
• Haley McDonald and Lexi Greenhawt each posted top-three finishes at CSL, with McDonald tying for second in the 200 IM (1:59.35) and Greenhawt placing third in the 50 free (22.07).
• Graduate transfer Charlotte Martinkus won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 258.55 points at the TEAM BE BETTER; Invitational and added a third-place finish on the 3-meter with 258.20 points.
• The Maize and Blue will return to competition on Friday, Nov. 6, traveling to Rochester, Mich., for a 4 p.m. dual meet against Oakland.
