Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On tonight's game ... "Well we knew it would be a close game and goals were precious. Getting the first goal was huge and giving up that late goal was disappointing and then the third goal was a tough goal to give up. It was an unearned goal, but they all count. We just couldn't respond, we hit the post; we had a couple of good chances. It was a hard fought game that could have went either way, but it went the other way."
On special teams play ... "I thought we had some good offensive puck control on the power play. (Chris) Brown had a great chance and (Phil) Di Giuseppe had a great chance. We had some chances and I thought the PK was better, but tomorrow night is another game. The tough thing is when you think you did some good things in the game and you still end up losing the game."
On fixing the offensive struggles ... "It is not as easy as turning a switch on. You have to get a little bit lucky. You have to get pucks to the net and you have to win some battles. If the forwards don't get to the front of the net because we are not trying hard enough or we are letting their D keep us boxed out, then you are not going to get to those loose pucks. When you think about their first goal was a point shot and a rebound loose puck, and we did not get to their guy and it was an easy goal."
U-M Senior Forward David Wohlberg
On games that seem they could go either way ... "They're not fun right now. If we were on the other side of that you would be feeling better about yourself. We didn't play great either way but they're tough to play when you know it's just one shot and you know it's tied up."
On what the offense needs to do to get going ... "I think we need to look back when we were scoring a couple more goals a game. We really were just getting pucks on net and not letting the goalie see the puck. You know, we were getting shots through. It's really just a couple tweaks and we'll be fine."
