With the defeat, Michigan falls to 11-7 overall and 1-4 in Big Ten play. The Wolverines are 1-4 this season outside of Crisler Arena. John Beilein is now 2-3 all-time against Indiana.
Michigan now trails Indiana in the all-time series 54-100 (51-93*). The Wolverines are 12-62 all-time against the Hoosiers in Bloomington.
Darius Morris led U-M with 22 points, marking the fifth time in his career that he has scored 20 or more points and the 11th time in his career he has led Michigan in scoring.
Morris tied a career high with eight points from the free throw line. Morris also made eight from the charity stripe against Bryant on Dec. 23 earlier this season.
Morris finished with a game-high seven assists; he has dished out seven or more assists in 10 games this season.
Four Wolverines scored in double figures for the second straight game. Darius Morris had a team-high 22 points, while Tim Hardaway Jr., Zack Novak and Jordan Morgan each added 10 points.
Tim Hardaway Jr. had a career-best three steals in the contest. His previous career high was two, on three occasions, most recently against Kansas (Jan. 9).
Indiana shot 67.4 percent (29-of-43) from the field in the contest, the highest percentage for a Michigan opponent this season. The Hoosiers shot 70.8 percent (17-of-24) in the second half.
U-M committed just six turnovers, including just one in the second half. The Wolverines are in the top 10 in the country in fewest turnovers per game, averaging just 11.0 per contest.
Michigan grabbed a season-low 18 rebounds. The previous low for the Maize and Blue was 21 at Wisconsin on Jan. 5.
The Wolverines recorded no blocked shots against the Hoosiers. It was the second time this season U-M has not had a block in a game; the other came at Wisconsin on Jan. 5.
Michigan scored just 15 points in the first half, the fewest for the Wolverines in any half this season. The previous low was 18 in the first half against Kansas (Jan. 9).
U-M made just five field goals in the first half, a season low. The previous low was six, in the first half against Kansas.
Michigan was out-rebounded in the first half, 19-7; the Wolverines grabbed their first rebound of the game 10 minutes into the first half.
U-M is now 3-5 this season when wearing its blue uniforms. The Wolverines are 0-3 in Big Ten play in blue.
For the fifth straight game, Michigan went with the starting lineup of Darius Morris, Zack Novak, Tim Hardaway Jr., Evan Smotrycz and Jordan Morgan. The Wolverines have used this lineup in all but one game this season.
