Q U O T E S
Michigan Head Coach Bruce Berque
On the first competition of the season ... "We were pleased. Given we were only practicing for about a week, the guys looked fairly sharp. We used it to learn what we need to get after this week in practice and really for the rest of the semester. It's much more helpful to watch them in matches so we can get a better picture, but I thought we played at a very high level."
On Jason Jung's play and on being named Most Outstanding Player ... "He picked up right where he left off last year. He continued to work on his game. Tennis is one of those sports where you need to keep competing to get better. We wanted to use this event as an opportunity for him to get some matches under his belt before All-Americans. He played very well. He's in a pretty good place with his tennis right now."
On his first impressions of the freshmen in collegiate play ... "I think we saw a lot of good things. All four are really competitive and really hungry to get better. That's exciting to have as coaches. Overall, it's a pretty mature group of freshmen. We are excited that we can have some good jumps with their games. They're all very good athletes and did pretty well. They had some good results."
