Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On breaking the game open in the third period ... "I don't know if we broke it open. The goals were really precious tonight. Coach Pearson said after the first period that this could be a 1-0 type game. We can't let this team score because goals are so precious. Fortunately, we found a way to score. It was pretty good team defense. We didn't give them much. When you get isolated chances you have to make them count."

On Louie Caporusso ... "Louie battled hard. He has played really hard in recent games. I would say he has played well since Christmas or even before Christmas. He was one of our best forwards in the Notre Dame series (Dec. 11-13). You could see him battling. He is trying hard and not getting the bounces. Now you can see that he is getting the bounces to go his way. He has made some good plays and his linemates are the recipients and they are scoring. It was nice to see someone make a good play to him tonight. Chad Langlais made a great play to Louie on the second goal."

On the impact of team defense ... "It was busy hockey. They are a hard team to play against. At the ice level it was a hard, competitive game. They never got us out-numbered and that was important in the game. Our forwards did a good job and our defense played defense. You rarely saw us trapped and that's why we were not able to give up the blue line as easy and were not able to give up as many good chances."

         U-M Junior Forward Louie Caporusso
On securing the lead ... "Bryan Hogan made some big saves. I thought we came back pretty well and played well defensively. We still gave them some chances where it could have gone the other way. Before we knew it we had a couple of goals in the net and that puts them on their heels. They lose their confidence and feel like they are not as much in the game."
On moving up in the CCHA standings ... "It feels great. We know this is such a tight race. You can move from ninth to second with a couple of big wins. Second place is still in our reach. We have to take every game seriously and move forward from here."

On scoring goal s... "I think it's just being in the right spot at every moment. Some games you are in the right spot at the right time. You're playing well, but you're not in the right spot every time. Chad [Langlais] did a great job of calling it from behind."

         U-M Senior Forward Brian Lebler
On coming back to Yost after the Camp Randall Classic ... "To lose to a high ranked team like Wisconsin is a big blow. You know that would help your team hugely in the long run. You know coming back that you have to take this game just as seriously as the Wisconsin game."
