Bowling Green Series Notes
U-M has won its last three games in Bowling Green to improve its road record to 28-18-3. Overall, the Wolverines are 74-34-3 against the Falcons.
Team Notes
Head coach Red Berenson notched the 689th win of his career tonight, tying him with Len Ceglarski (Clarkson, Boston College) for sixth place on the NCAA Hockey all-time coaching wins list.
Michigan has recorded multiple power-play goals in a game 11 times this season. U-M was two-for-seven with the man-advantage tonight.
U-M has a record of 14-2-0 when it scores first. Matt Rust opened the scoring at 12:05 of the first period.
On the road, U-M improves to 6-6-0. Tonight's win ended a two-game skid.
Individual Notes
Carl Hagelin's assist tonight was his 18th of the season, matching his career high from a year ago. Furthermore, that assist was his 31st point of the season, again equaling his career high from 2008-09. His 13 goals match his career high from last season.
Carl Hagelin and Matt Rust each extended their point streaks to three games. Hagelin's assist gives him a 1-3-4 line. Rust posted a goal to give him 2-2-4 totals.
Chris Brown notched his team-best sixth power-play goal of the season. He has recorded a goal in back-to-back games three times during his rookie year.
Brown scored the game-winning goal for the second straight game. He has three game-winners this season to lead the Maize and Blue.
Steve Kampfer, U-M's top scorer on the blue line (1-14-15), posted two assists for his career-best third multi-point game of the season. He has seven multi-point games for his career.
Louie Caporusso earned an assist, giving him 2-5-7 totals in the last nine games.
