Series Notes
Tonight's loss snapped an eight-game series winning streak over UNO for the Wolverines that dated back to November 2006. U-M leads the all-time series at 24-5-3 and is 9-3-3 in Omaha.
Louie Caporusso has three goals and five assists in six career games against the Mavericks.
Team Notables
Louie Caporusso's goal was his 10th of the season, giving the Maize and Blue five double-digit goal scorers for the year (Carl Hagelin 13, Chris Brown 12, Matt Rust 10, Brian Lebler 10).
The Wolverines lost for just the third time this season after scoring the game's first goal. U-M falls to 15-3-0 under the circumstance.
Michigan gave up three goals in a period for the third time this season. UNO scored three times in the first period tonight.
U-M has lost all seven of its games this year when allowing multiple power-play goals. UNO was 2-for-4 on the power play tonight.
Individual Notables
Carl Hagelin tied his career-best point streak at six games by recording an assist tonight. He has a 1-6-7 line over the last half-dozen contests. Hagelin also had six-game point streaks from Nov. 21-Dec. 11, 2009 (5-3-8) and Dec. 29, 2009-Jan. 16, 2010 (3-8-11).
Steve Kampfer notched his fourth multi-point game of the season with a goal and an assist. His two goals, 15 assists and 17 points on the season are all equal to career highs that he set as a sophomore in 2007-08.
Chris Brown scored his team-best seventh power-play goal of the season. Four of his last five tallies have come on the man-advantage.
