 WEDNESDAY, MAY 6-- Graduation
My fellow seniors and I attended our graduation this past weekend. We sat with many of our closest friends and it was awesome that we all were able to share such a special moment together. We were all decked out in our caps and gowns. Many don't find them to be attractive, but I thought I looked quite stunning in mine. The ceremony was really wonderful and all the speakers had great advice for us. They often spoke about how our graduating class is entering a country experiencing difficult economic times. Hopefully our class will make contributions that will help revitalize the country.
The evening after graduation my parents threw a graduation party for me. It meant a lot to me to have my closest friends and family around to celebrate this occasion for me. The entire team was there and they certainly enjoyed the spread of food my mom put out. Many of them asked me if I could graduate every week so they could eat more food.
On Sunday I had the pleasure of playing golf with Peter Aarts and his parents. I really have become an avid golfer this past year and I jump at any opportunity to play. After the tennis season is over, I'm going to commit myself to improving my golf game. Many people find it to be a frustrating sport, but I don't find it to be that way. I find being out on the course to be very relaxing. Maybe this will change as I get better and become more competitive. But for now, I find an afternoon on the course with friends to be soothing.
Today the team and I are heading to Ohio State for the regional round of the NCAA tournament. Our team showed an amazing amount of resilience and determination to turn our season around. I for one am extremely proud of what we have accomplished and am excited to see how we attack our upcoming challenge this weekend. All the hardships we experienced this season certainly have prepared us to handle anything that comes our way in the tournament.
