U-M falls to 68-46-5 against Notre Dame all-time and 22-21-2 in South Bend. Tonight marks Michigan's second-ever shutout loss to the Fighting Irish. The first came on Dec. 8, 1973 (2-0).
The Wolverines were shut out for the third time this season. All three blankings have been by 2-0 scores: vs. Alaska (Oct. 9), at Michigan State (Nov. 14).
Carl Hagelin's career-best point streak came to an end at six games. He had five goals and three assists during the run.
Michigan's string of games with a power-play goal ended at seven. U-M was 0-for-5 on the power play today.
