
DePietro, Streeter Earn Two Doubles Wins at WMU Invitational

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Senior Mike DePietro (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Lahser HS) and sophomore David Streeter (Beverley Hills, Mich./Birmingham Groves HS) of the University of Michigan men's tennis team took fifth place in the doubles competition today (Oct. 31) at the WMU Vredevelt Invitational held at West Hills Athletic Club.
Playing in the Brown flight, the Wolverine duo dropped its first-round match to host Western Michigan's Kevin Hayward and Zeyad Montesser, 8-2, but rebounded with an 8-4 second-round win over Peter Anton and Stephen Vogl from Indiana. The pair concluded the day with an 8-4 win over Bradley's Callen Fraychineaud and Milos Romic. DePietro and Streeter move to 2-2 in fall action with their two doubles wins.
DePietro and Streeter will continue action at the WMU Vredevelt Invitational tomorrow (Nov. 1) with two rounds of singles beginning at 9 a.m. Senior Peter Aarts (Pound Ridge, N.Y./Fox Lane HS), junior Matt Parks (Troy, Mich./Troy HS), junior George Navas (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Preparatory School) and sophomore/freshman Drew Daniel (Overland Park, Kan./Laurel Springs School) will open main-draw action at the Big Ten Singles Championship on Saturday (Nov. 1) beginning at 8 a.m. CST in Madison, Wis.
