MONDAY, OCT. 27 C Making Sure to Catch The Flight Home
Waking up at 4:30 a.m. to catch a flight back to Ann Arbor and go to class surely isn't that much fun. However, doing it after finishing in a tie for third at such a competitive event, however, makes travel way more relaxed.
For the past weekend we stayed at the Holiday Inn Sunspree where we had the nicest view to the beach, and got to hear the howling wind that we would have to face when we stepped it up to the tee. Every day was very windy, and it seemed like it never calmed down because I could hear the wind all night from my room!
The highlight of our tournament surely was shooting 294 and getting into a good position after a slow start. After that first day our assistant coach Cheryl Stacy told us to keep our head high and to remember that once we got things going we would be unstoppable. I think those were very motivating words, and they certainly pushed us forward and helped get us in the right mind set for going low the next two days.
After the tournament ended we had a two hour drive back to Raleigh, N.C., where we spent the night and got barely any sleep as everyone had so much schoolwork to do. We managed to turn in into a fun ordeal though, since we had a study party at one of the Suites. Needless to say it was a long night, but we got through it and slept on the plane ride back!
Well, Im off to class now but as always, Go Blue!
