Borschel placed third at the 2008 NCAA Championships.
The NWCA All-Star Cassic pits the nation's top collegiate wrestlers against each other in challenge matches that are often seen as a preview of the NCAA Championships. The NWCA ranks this year's lineup as one of the best of all-time with four NCAA champions and nine preseason No. 1-ranked wrestlers, including Luke, slated to participate.
A two-time Big Ten champion and NCAA All-American, Luke boasted an impressive 34-4 record over his junior campaign last season, including a 22-2 mark in dual meets, and claimed NCAA runner-up honors after narrowly falling to Pittsburgh's Keith Gavin 4-2 in the 174-pound final. He is the 31st Michigan wrestler to earn a NWCA All-Star selection and the third in as many years.
The Wolverines will open the preliminary portion of their 2008-09 campaign in two weeks, sending a majority of the roster to compete unattached at the EMU Open on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Bowen Field House in Ypsilanti, Mich.
