Men's Tennis Program to Hold Alumni Weekend Events

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis team will hold its annual Alumni Weekend this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 7-8) in conjunction with U-M's Homecoming football game against Minnesota.
The weekend will kick off on Friday with an informal dinner (7:30 p.m.) for Michigan tennis alumni at Arbor Brewing Company (114. E. Washington St.). A match which pits the current team members against the former Wolverines will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday at the Varsity Tennis Center. Following the tennis action, an alumni tailgate will begin at 11 a.m. in a tented area near the outdoor courts. The Michigan football team will renew its rivalry with the Golden Gophers at 1 p.m. at Michigan Stadium.
Alumni who are scheduled to attend include 1996 Wimbledon singles finalist and two-time NCAA All-American MaliVai Washington (1988-89), 1996 Big Ten singles champion and Ann Arbor native Peter Pusztai (1993-96), and recent letterwinners Anthony Jackson (2001-04), Josef Fischer (2002-05) and Vinny Gossain (2002-05).
