| TRAINING LOG: June 21-27 After spending nearly three weeks on the West Coast, Brannen and Willis returned to Ann Arbor for several days to regroup before kicking off the European portion of their racing schedule. Still in need of their respective Olympic qualifying times, the pair separated in the middle of the week as Willis headed to Great Britain on Wednesday and Brannen traveled to Croatia a couple days later. | ||||

"I was pretty pleased with my 1500m at the Pre Classic last weekend, and especially with how my training has been the last couple of weeks. Workouts this week went very well; my fitness level is looking good and I think I'm ready to run a good 800m. I don't do too well with the time change in Europe, so I was a little skeptical about that, but it adjusted fairly well and things are looking really good heading into Rome in a week." |
"The race on Sunday went out very slow because of the wind. We were only 1:58 at the 800m mark, but I felt good and started moving up towards the front. Because of the slow pace, the field really bunched up at the bell, and unfortunately I was tripped and hit the ground. With a bit of hesitation, I got back into the race to finish it, and I was surprised to find that I was actually able to catch some of the runners. I finished a very disappointing sixth, but I am ready to put it behind me and get ready for the big races scheduled for the next week" | |||
