Track and Field Teams Prepare for Intrasquad Meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's and women's track and field teams will preview the 2005 season at their annual Maize and Blue Intrasquad meet, scheduled for Friday and Saturday (Dec. 10-11) at the U-M Indoor Track Building. The results of the intrasquad, which will be scored as a coed meet, will assist in the determination of the final U-M rosters.

Representing the Blue team will be two-time NCAA cross country All-American Rebecca Walter (Beverly Hills, Mich./Groves HS) in the 3,000-meter run, while the Maize team will feature three-time NCAA All-American Lindsey Gallo (Freehold, N.J./Howell HS) in the 1,200- and 3,000-meter events, All-American and Big Ten champion Theresa Feldkamp (Lorain, Ohio/Amherst Steele HS) in the 3,000m and Big Ten pole vault champion Elizabeth Boyle (Northbrook, Ill./New Trier HS).

For the men, three-time NCAA champion Nate Brannen (Cambridge, Ontario/Preston HS) will compete in the distance medley relay and 2,400-meter run, while 2004 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Jeff Porter (Somerset, N.J./Franklin HS) will run the 60-meter dash and the 60m high hurdles for the Blue team.

The Wolverines men's and women's track and field teams will open the 2005 season by hosting the Jack Harvey Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 8, at the U-M Indoor Track Building.
