The game was blown wide open in the second half as the Wolverines added a season-high four goals in the 35-minute span to secure the win. Senior April Fronzoni (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West HS) gave the Wolverines a 2-0 advantage at 37:35 when she took a pass from sophomore Lori Hillman (Gibbsboro, N.J./Eastern Regional HS) and beat Buckley with a sweep to the right side, then junior Kate Dillon (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Central HS) added her first career marker, tipping in a shot at the right post to make it 3-0 just under 10 minutes later.
The Wolverines continued the onslaught with two goals in less than three minutes to close out the game. Senior Stephanie Johnson (Houston, Texas/The Kinkaid School) scored on a penalty corner at 59:40 to push the score to 4-0 before freshman Mary Fox (St. Louis, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) finished the scoring by tipping in a pass from Hillman at the right post at 61:16.
Buckley made 17 saves as 22 of Michigan's 37 shots went on net. Junior Molly Maloney (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest HS) stopped one shot to pitch her first shutout of the season.
The Wolverines will hit the road for their next three matches, beginning next weekend with a trip to Maryland for two non-conference matchups. Michigan will face No. 3 Maryland on Friday, Sept. 19, before taking on James Madison at Maryland on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Q U O T E S
Head Coach Marcia Pankratz
On scoring five goals ... "I was very pleased. The goalkeeper for UNH played extraordinarily well and they had three defensive saves. She was amazing. It could have been even more. I thought our attack was very patient. They had a lot of good possessions and it was one of those games where everyone was confident about their decision making and it went very well."
On outscoring opponents 11-0 over the weekend ... "I'm more impressed with our defense this weekend than our offense because we shut both teams out. It was something that we wanted to improve upon from the first weekend of play. We made a lot of adjustments and we've really battened down the hatches. That's our strength. Even though we've scored a lot of goals over the years, our strength has been limiting shots and playing tenacious defense. This weekend I was very proud of them for doing that."
