TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- For the fourth straight weekend the University of Michigan softball has had its tournament schedule altered by the inclement weather. The Wolverines' regularly scheduled pool play today Friday (March 7) at the Seminole Invitational was delayed until tomorrow due to rain. Only four of today's 15 scheduled games were completed.
Michigan will play all three of its round-robin contests tomorrow (Saturday, March 8), beginning with back-to-back tilts against Utah and Providence at noon and 2 p.m., respectively. Following a one-game break the 14th-ranked Wolverines close out pool play vs. Florida International at 6 p.m.
The playoff rounds are now scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Sunday (March 9). In a revised format, there will be four brackets involving the same-place finishers from the four pools (e.g., all first-place pool teams in one bracket). Michigan, in Pool C, will play at noon, and again at 2 p.m. if it wins its noon game.
