Doubles Pair Eliminated from ITA Indoor Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis doubles team of senior Anthony Jackson (Glendale, Wis./Nicolet HS) and freshman Brian Hung (Hong Kong, China/Sagemont Virtual School) was eliminated from the ITA National Indoor Championships on Saturday (Nov. 8) at the Varsity Tennis Center.
The Wolverines were unable recover after falling behind early in their consolation semifinal match against Tyler Junior College's Mark Growcott and Jordan Freitas. Tyler broke Michigan's serve in the second game to gain a 3-0 advantage. Each team held its serve and exchanged games for the remainder of the match, resulting in Tyler's 8-5 victory.
Duke's Ludovic Walter and Jason Zimmerman clinched the doubles title by defeating Old Dominion's Zoltan Csanadi and Izak van der Merwe 8-6 in the championship match.
The ITA National Indoor Championships will conclude tomorrow (Sunday, Nov. 9), starting with men's and women's singles consolation finals at 10 a.m. at the Varsity Tennis Center. The women's singles finals is slated to begin at noon, with the men's final immediately following.
