Leading the charge for the Maize and Blue was Jennifer Crisman (Hudsonville, Mich./Jenison HS), who won her fourth 100-yard backstroke with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 53.99, becoming just the eighth swimmer in Big Ten Championships history to win the same event four consecutive years.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Crisman, Missy Sugar (Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins HS), Annie Weilbacher (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis de Sales HS) and Samantha Arsenault (Peabody, Mass./Gardner HS) won the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:19.61) in NCAA consideration time, while setting a new Counsilman and Billingsley Aquatics Pool record to seal the victory for U-M.
The 400-yard medley relay team of Crisman, Weilbacher, Arsenault and Traci Valasco (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester Adams HS) was just as impressive as they too finished first in an NCAA automatic qualifying time (3:38.76) while setting meet and pool records.
